Hazel's LO2S experience

Hey I’m Hazel,

I’m about to go in fifth year at school at Baldragon Academy. I always knew I wanted to go to college or university but I wasn’t sure what to do.  Being on LO2S really opened up my eyes to the fact that you can do a course in just about anything from sports science to green keeping.

At first I was nervous about going because it was the first time I had properly been away from home.  I had my friends there and as soon as you meet the leaders on the bus, you feel so much better. When I left LO2S I was so, so sad because I met a great bunch of friends, some of them I met on the last night. LO2S was amazing!  I was glad to go home and see my family but also really sad that LO2S was over because it really was so good and I had to say goodbye to the friends I made.

After LO2S you feel much more confident as you make new friends instantly. The best bit about LO2S had to be the night sessions we did.  We went bowling one night, the beach another, did a ghost tour of Edinburgh and at the ceilidh everyone dresses up and it’s such a great night. The bus journeys were also good, as that was when you made new friends and just had a laugh.

My conclusion about LO2S is that it’s something I’ve never regretted and even if you're unsure or know what you want to do - go!!! You really should, it’s an amazing experience and it’s a chance to meet new people. Everyone is unbelievably nice and really look after you so you soon forget about home. It’s a chance to see exactly what college and university is like so I would say GO!!! To everyone - you can’t get a much better experience!

Hey, I'm Jessica and I'm currently in 5th year at St Paul's RC Academy in Dundee.

This is just a little info for you guys about what we think about the Student Volunteers.
The Student Volunteers are amazing!
They let you hear about what College or University is really like, and they are also huge role models for us as pupils on LO2S because they're all so enthusiastic about studying.
The students give us lots of advice, help, and are always there for you when you need them!
The Student Volunteers are great fun, I have to say. They can give you loads of info and tell you stuff about really being a student because they're all so in enthusiastic about studying.
For all you newbies going on LO2S this summer, have a great time, enjoy yourselves, make new friends, and enter the world of Higher Education! :)
