NUS Scotland visit LIFT OFF
We recently had some special guests here at LIFT OFF Towers. Robin Parker, the president of NUS Scotland and Russell Gunson, their head of policy and public affairs, came to chat to us about how we might work more closely together in the future.
"It was great to come along and hear about all the fantastic work that LIFT OFF is doing around Fife and Tayside. NUS Scotland is, of course, very passionate about how special higher education is and believes that it should be an opportunity open to everyone. That's why we've campaigned to make sure that we don’t have barriers to continuing in education like tuition fees and lack of finance in Scotland - and that's why I'm keen to see how we can work with LIFT OFF to help them tell as many young people in Fife and Tayside about the opportunities open to them in higher education and how they can get into college or university."
We are looking forward to developing links with NUS Scotland.
As if all that wasn't exciting enough, Ryan Smart was announced as the new president of the Students' Association at Adam Smith College - where we are based - on the same day. Two presidents in one day. If we didn't have the photo to prove it, we wouldn't believe it ourselves. (Robin is on the left, Ryan on the right)
