How is it already March 2022?!?

This month marks 2 YEARS since LIFT OFF transitioned to working from home. Speaking of transitions, we have continued to deliver our S6 Transitions Programme for S6 pupils in secondary schools across Tayside & Fife, with it all wrapping up at our final S6 LIVE online event at the end of this month.

This academic year, due to COVID restrictions, has seen the S6 Transitions Programme being delivered in-school, online during LIVE sessions or through recordings. The LIFT OFF team have worked very hard to ensure pupils continue to receive our support across Fife, Dundee and Angus councils. And on that note, we would like to say a massive thank you to all our school contacts who have worked tirelessly to set up in-school and/or online sessions.

The S6 Transitions Programme has supported senior pupils applying to Higher Education, searching for courses available while identifying entry requirements and deepening their understanding of the UCAS application process.  And after drafts and drafts, and more drafts, of Personal Statements (I know, I promised S6 pupils I wouldn’t say those words again) we are already hearing of pupils receiving offers from universities across Scotland, and beyond.

Back on the road this term (or staring at a webcam), LIFT OFF have been delivering ‘S6 Session 4 – Taking the Next Steps’ focusing on securing a place at university through UCAS Extra & Clearing, while providing information regarding funding & SAAS, budgeting, student accommodation; and the types of support available in HE.

And just like that, we are approaching the end of Term 3 which concludes the S6 Transitions Programme with our S6 Core Pupils being invited to our final LIVE online twilight session just before the Easter holidays. But, support from the LIFT OFF team does not conclude with this programme… more information coming soon!
